URAKAMI CATHEDRAL
Urakami Cathedral is located near the hypocenter of the Nagasaki Atomic Bomb, and there is Peace Memorial Park on the side. It takes 8 minutes on foot from the Peace Memorial Park stop of the tram. It was dedicated in 1914 as the largest brick Romanesque cathedral in the East. The building was destroyed by the atomic bomb, but was later rebuilt. A-bomb survivors (melted statues of the Virgin, etc.) excavated and collected during the reconstruction are also on display.
