26 MARTYRS MUSEUM
Japan 26 Martyrs Museum stands on the Nishisaka Hill in the center of Nagasaki City, where the 26 Saints were once crucified. The museum was founded in 1962 by the Jesuits to commemorate the 100th anniversary of the canonization, and tells the story of the Christian culture preached by Francisco Xavier and the messages of those who were martyred by persecution against Christianity.
